Logo QR is out now on Google Play. It makes QR codes that look like they belong to you — your logo in the middle, your colours, your choice of dot shape — and it scans any QR code or barcode you point it at. There is no account to create, and the codes you make stay on your phone.
Why put a logo in a QR code
A plain black-and-white QR code works, but it looks the same as every other one. On a café table, a shop window or a business card, people are more willing to scan a code when they can see whose it is. A logo in the centre and colours that match the rest of your printing answer that question before anyone opens the camera.
The obvious worry is that covering the middle of a code will break it. It does not have to. QR codes are built with redundant data so that a scratched or partly covered code still reads, and the amount of redundancy is a setting called error correction. At the highest level, H, about 30% of the code can be missing. When you add a logo, Logo QR reminds you to switch to H, and the preview shows the result as you go.
What you can change
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Content | a link, any text, or a phone number |
| Logo | any image from your photos, placed in the centre |
| Colours | the colour of the code and of the background |
| Dot shape | square, rounded or dots |
| Error correction | L, M, Q or H — use H with a logo |
When the code looks right, share it straight to a chat, an email or a printer, or save it to your photos. Every code you make goes into History, so a menu code from last month can be opened, restyled and shared again without starting over.
Before you print, scan it. Colours with weak contrast — light grey on white, dark blue on black — are the most common reason a styled code fails. Open the code on one phone and scan it with another; it takes ten seconds and saves a reprint.
A scanner in the same app
The other half of Logo QR reads codes. Point the camera at a QR code or a barcode, or pick a photo or screenshot that contains one, and the app works out what it is. A link opens in your browser, a phone number goes to the dialer, an email address opens a new message, and a Wi-Fi code shows the network name and lets you copy the password. Anything you scan can be turned into a styled code of your own with one tap — useful when you want the café's plain Wi-Fi code redone with its logo.
Scanned codes go into History too, with a readable name rather than a raw string: the Wi-Fi network, the phone number, the email address. Finding the guest Wi-Fi you scanned at a hotel last week is a matter of scrolling, not rescanning.
Good for
Restaurant menus, shop windows, business cards, flyers, Wi-Fi for guests, event tickets, product labels and social profiles — anywhere a code sits next to your name and should look like it.
Nothing leaves your phone
A QR code app does not need to know who you are, and Logo QR does not ask. There is no sign-up, and NDT Studio runs no server for this app.

The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner, and now and then a full-screen ad after you finish a task. None of your codes, logos or scans is passed to the ad network. A one-time purchase on Google Play removes the ads for good, or you can watch one ad and have none for the next 24 hours. The privacy policy sets out exactly what the app stores and what the ad SDK can see.

Google PlayFrequently asked questions
Will a QR code with a logo in the middle still scan?
Yes, if the error correction is high enough. QR codes carry redundant data so that part of the code can be damaged or covered and still read; at the highest level, H, roughly 30% can be missing. When you add a logo, Logo QR reminds you to switch to H. Keep the logo modest and the contrast between code and background strong, and test the code with a second phone before you print a thousand flyers.
Does Logo QR upload my codes or my logo?
No. The app has no account and no server. The text you turn into codes, the logos you pick, your History and the codes you scan are kept on your phone. The camera image is read on the device and is not stored or sent.
Is it free?
Yes. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. A one-time purchase on Google Play removes them for good, and there is also an option to watch one ad and have no ads for the next 24 hours.
