The problem this solves
Most invoicing apps were designed for accountants. They want you to set up a tax profile, a customer database, a chart of accounts, and a recurring billing schedule before you can send your first invoice. For a freelance designer who needs to bill one client tomorrow, that’s overhead — not features.
The other end of the spectrum is "type the line items into Word, save as PDF, send." That works exactly once. By invoice number twelve you’ve broken the layout, miscounted the tax, and forgotten which clients have paid.
Invoice Generator sits in the middle: structured enough to keep your numbers straight, lightweight enough to use the same way you use a calculator.
What it does
- PDF invoices in seconds. Add line items, tax (toggle dollar amount or percentage), discount, shipping. Export as PDF, share via the system share sheet, or print over AirPrint.
- Multiple sender profiles. Bill from different companies or DBA names without juggling apps.
- 180+ currencies. Full ISO 4217 support — proper symbols, proper decimal handling. Bill clients anywhere.
- Status workflow. Draft → Pending → Paid → Overdue. The status filter is the closest thing to a dashboard you need at this scale.
- Search by anything. Number, client, sender, notes, terms. Faster than scrolling.
- Optional logo. Upload yours for branded invoices, or leave it off for clean, minimal output.
Privacy by default
Every byte stays on your device. No account creation, no cloud sync, no analytics, no tracking. Your client list — which is some of the most sensitive business data you have — never leaves your phone.
Why this matters: client lists, invoice amounts, and payment terms are competitive information. Even if you trust your invoicing provider not to misuse the data, you can’t guarantee they won’t be acquired, breached, or change their privacy policy. Local-only avoids the question entirely.

If you’re sending more than 100 invoices per month, you’ll probably outgrow the app and want something with proper accounting integration. Below that threshold, Invoice Generator is faster and quieter than any cloud tool.
Currency support
Why 180+ currencies? Because freelance work crosses borders all the time. The app handles the symbol placement (€10 vs 10€ vs 10 € vs $10), the decimal separator (1,000.00 vs 1.000,00), and the number of decimals (most currencies use two; the Japanese yen and Korean won use zero) automatically. Pick the currency from the picker and the invoice formats correctly without you thinking about it.
How to get started
Install the app, tap "New Invoice," fill in the sender (your business), the recipient (your client), and the line items. The first invoice is the slowest because you’re entering your own business details for the first time — after that, those details persist as a sender profile and reuse automatically.
