About ProTime: Billable Hours

ProTime is for independent professionals who bill for their time: lawyers, tax and accounting professionals, coaches, architects, therapists and consultants. Pick your profession once and the app uses the words of your trade, so a lawyer sees cases and court fees and a therapist sees clients and sessions. The Today screen opens on your most recent case, and one tap starts the timer. Bill by the hour or by the session; a session is billed in full and its length is still recorded. Log fees and costs you paid on the client's behalf with a photo of the receipt, and every case keeps a running total of time, expenses, what has been paid and what is still due. When it is time to collect, ProTime builds a payment request with a VietQR code that already carries the amount and reference, or with your own payment link or bank details, and you send it through any messaging or email app. Each case moves from Not sent to Awaiting payment to Paid, and work logged after a payment is billed on its own so nothing is charged twice. There is no account and no server; clients, hours, expenses and payment requests stay on the device. Thirty-four languages. The free plan keeps three cases open at a time and shows ads, which never appear on a payment request; ProTime Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, removes the limit and the ads.

Built around the case, not the clock

Most time trackers are built for teams and projects, and they show it: workspaces, tags, reports for a manager who does not exist when you work alone. A lawyer, an accountant or a therapist in private practice needs something narrower. They need to know, for each client or matter, how much time went in, what they paid out on the client's behalf, how much has been paid, and how much is still owed.

ProTime starts from that. The first screen asks for your profession, and from then on the app speaks your language: a lawyer sees cases, court dates and court fees; a tax professional sees engagements and filing fees; a therapist sees clients, sessions and assessment fees; an architect sees projects and site reviews. Today opens on the case you worked on last, so starting the timer is one tap.

Hours, sessions and what you paid out

Some work is billed by the hour and some by the session, so each case can use either. A session is billed at its full price however long it runs, and its real length is still recorded, which is useful when you later wonder whether your session price is too low. Fees and costs you paid for the client — court fees, filing fees, materials, travel — are logged with a photo of the receipt.

Every case keeps a running total: time or sessions, expenses, what the client has paid and what is still due. Nothing has to be added up at the end of the month.

Getting paid

When it is time to collect, ProTime turns the balance into a payment request. In Vietnam it generates a VietQR code with the amount and the transfer reference already filled in, so the client scans it in their banking app and the transfer arrives labelled. Elsewhere it adds your payment link or bank details. You send the request through whatever the client actually reads — Zalo, WhatsApp, email — and the case moves from Not sent to Awaiting payment to Paid. Marking it paid is one tap, with undo, and anything you log after a payment is billed on its own, so a client is never asked for the same hour twice.

There is no account and no server: your clients, hours, expenses and payment requests stay on your phone. The free plan keeps three cases open at a time and shows ads from Google AdMob, which never appear on a payment request or its QR code. ProTime Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, removes the limit and the ads. The ProTime privacy policy sets out what the app stores and what the ad SDK receives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is ProTime for?

Independent professionals who bill for their time: lawyers, tax and accounting professionals, coaches, architects, therapists and consultants. You pick your profession when you first open the app, and it relabels itself — cases and court fees for a lawyer, clients and sessions for a therapist, projects for an architect.

Can I bill per session instead of per hour?

Yes. Each case can be billed by the hour or by the session. A session is billed at its full price whatever its length, and the time is still recorded so you can see how long you actually spent.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. There is no account and no server, so your clients, hours, expenses and payment requests are never uploaded. The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob, which never appear on a payment request or its QR code.
